GOVERNMENT DECIDES TO UPGRADE PRIMARY EDUCATION TO EIGHTH GRADE INSTEAD OF UP TO FIFTH.
The primary and mass education ministry will now deal issues of education up to eighth grade in schools instead of fifth grade.
It’s in accordance with the 2010 National Education Policy, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said on Wednesday.
The decision was taken in a meeting at the Secretariat, over implementing the policy.
It was attended by Nahid, Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman and top education experts of the country.
“This is a one-of-its-kind decision in the history of the country’s education system” Nahid told the media after the meeting.
