2 ‘robbers’ killed in Bogra ‘gunfight’

Two suspected robbers were killed in a ‘gunfight’ between police and ‘robbers’ at Panchpir under Kahalu in Bogra early Wednesday.

The dead were Dulal, 45, and Ibrahim, 48. Their detailed identities could not be known immediately.

Kahalu police station officer-in-charge Noor-e-Alam Siddiquee said that they, on secret information raided Panchpeer area to arrest robbers around 1:00am.

The ‘robbers’, sensing the police raid, opened fire targeting police and police also retaliated to save their lives, he said.

After the gunfight, police found critically injured Dulal and Ibrahim and took them to Bogra Shaheed Zia Medical College Hospital where they died later, the OC said.

Police recovered a pistol, five rounds of bullets, a magazine and sharp weapons from the spot, he said.
